Our Impact | 2023-2024 School Year


- Postsecondary enrollment among GEAR UP New Mexico graduates has continuously improved from 40.6% among the class of 2021 to 48.7% among the class of 2024.
- Students who enrolled in postsecondary education immediately following high school graduation participated in more hours of GEAR UP services than those who did not enroll in postsecondary education.
- Family engagement in GEAR UP services was higher for students who immediately enrolled in postsecondary education.
- GEAR UP supported counseling/advising services were significantly and positively correlated with postsecondary enrollment.
- Among the class of 2024 students, those who immediately enrolled in postsecondary education had a higher college-going self-efficacy.

I think GEAR UP should be expanded. When I was in high school, I didn’t have this opportunity. And I wish I did. It would have actually prepared me. If I would have had this kind of resource, it would have set me on a different path.
