Our Impact | 2022-2023 School Year

Since the Fall of 2020, GEAR UP New Mexico (GUNM) has supported over 12,000 7th – 12th grade students and their families with college and career readiness support across 15 middle and high schools.
GUNM participants from the class of 2022 were statistically 1.4 times more likely than non-participants to enroll in college.
Among the class of 2022, students who enrolled in college participated in significantly more hours of GEAR UP New Mexico activities than students who did not enroll in college.
In a 2022-2023 exit survey of 1,200 juniors and seniors, 64% of students from the class of 2023 plan on pursuing education after high school graduation.
GEAR UP New Mexico students planning on pursuing a bachelor’s degree after high school had statistically higher college-going self-efficacy than those with other plans.
