Texas Instruments (TI) provides hands-on professional development and support to empower GEAR UP New Mexico teachers and students to succeed in both mathematics and science. Using calculators, TI Innovative Rovers, and coaching and classroom resources, TI Education technology transforms the way teachers teach and students learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects.

MidSchoolMath (MSM) provides hands-on professional development to support GEAR UP New Mexico middle school math intervention teachers to support students to succeed in mathematics. The curriculum blends immersive stories and state-of-the-art software to create new levels of student engagement and learning, transforming math classes in grades 7 and 8 with teaching principles that have a high impact.

GEAR UP New Mexico coordinators and school counselors explore college pathways by visiting colleges and universities across New Mexico. On the bus, educators review college readiness lessons and participate in team-building activities where they learn about each other, build trust, and strengthen collaboration. On campuses, they take a walking tour to showcase the college’s academic programs, facilities, student services, resources, and student life.

The AVID Summer Institute is an annual event hosted by AVID, bringing together educators and administrators for intensive training. The institute features workshops and hands-on sessions aimed at enhancing educators’ skills in implementing AVID methodologies. Participants learn best practices, strategies for student success, and how to foster a college-going culture in their schools, equipping them with the tools needed to effectively support students on their journey to higher education.
